Objective

Entrepreneurship 101 is tailored for aspiring entrepreneurs, focusing on practical skills for business success. It covers the Business Model Canvas, aligning personal and career goals, market engagement strategies, and social media sales techniques.
 
The course emphasizes real-world application, from developing business models to leveraging digital platforms for growth. It aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurial dynamics, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of the business world.
 
This course is an essential stepping stone for anyone looking to transform entrepreneurial ideas into viable, successful ventures.

Syllabus

Module : 

Unit 1 – What Is the Business Model Canvas and How to Utilize It (2hrs)

  • Introduction and detailed exploration of the Business Model Canvas.

  • Practical application in developing and analyzing business models.



Unit 2 – When Personal Meets Career Goals: Reflecting on Self-Identity (2hrs)

  • Encouraging students to revisit their life direction and align their personal and career aspirations.

  • Exercises and discussions focused on self-identity, purpose, and how these influence entrepreneurial ambitions.

 


Unit 3 – How to Validate Your Business Model in the Market: Assessing and Engaging (2hrs)


  • Techniques for students to assess their value to potential employers or in their own ventures.

  • Strategies for engaging with potential customers or employers, experts, and validating the feasibility of their business models.



Unit 4 – What Content Works and When to Post: Mastering Social Media Sales (2hrs)


  • Understanding the dynamics of different social media platforms and tailoring strategies to engage specific target audiences.

  • Developing impactful content strategies for social media, focusing on creating engaging, sales-driven narratives.

  • Utilizing social media advertising and promotional tools effectively to boost sales and measure success through analytics.


Tutor

Ms Jewell

Jewell is a serial entrepreneur with a professional certification in law (PCLL) from CityU HK. She founded a consulting company, advising startups on business models and providing technology and marketing solutions to over 300 clients. Her notable clients include JD Digits, Hong Kong Express, and Vivienne Tam.
Prior to her consulting ventures, Jewell was a founder of a tech startup specializing in garment analytics, which had formed partnerships with organizations including PressLogic, Fung’s Group, MyDress and the Mills.
Jewell actively contributes to the startup ecosystem as a co-founder of the Proptech Institute of Hong Kong. In 2021, she served as the community manager at the RegTech Association of Hong Kong, demonstrating her commitment to driving positive change in the industry.
